The Three Clan-Protecting Formations

“So strong.” Ji Ning stared at the Lord of All Demons hovering in the distant void. “As expected of an Elder God. Relying solely on the Starseizing Hand, I’m completely outclassed.” This Lord of All Demons, the one who had managed to rescue a large number of Seamless Gate experts from right under the nose of the World God ‘Mother Nuwa’ during the ancient Dawn War, was the most dreaded figure in Nuwa’s camp.

“Form the formations.”

Daofather Three Purities, Lord Buddha Tathagata, Divine Farmer, and Fuxi began commanding their respective groups of Empyrean Gods and True Immortals. Kuafu, Jade Cauldron Daofather, Xingtian, Freeheart True Lord, and other True Gods and Daofathers swiftly organized their own vast contingents of Empyrean Gods and True Immortals.

When the voice of Yellow Emperor Xuan Yuan rang out beside the ears of every Immortal and demon in Nuwa’s camp, every single Celestial Immortal immediately waved their hands, storing away the Loose Immortals and Fiendgods under their command. In the blink of an eye, the countless Immortals and demons that had filled the battlefield thinned out dramatically. The ordinary soldiers, the vast majority, had all vanished. The Empyrean Gods and True Immortals also moved with speed, storing their thousands of Celestial Immortals into their estate-treasures and cave-heaven treasures.

The countless Immortals and demons on Nuwa’s side of the battlefield vanished almost instantly, leaving only the True Gods, Daofathers, Empyrean Gods, and True Immortals.

During the battle at Julu Major World, the ‘Pangu Separates Heaven and Earth Formation’, one of the two, had been revealed, but it had been commanded by the True Immortal ‘Immortal Jimin’ and had only a few hundred Empyrean Gods and True Immortals under his command… a simplified version of the Pangu Separates Heaven and Earth Formation.

Now, with ‘Daofather Three Purities’ as the core and three thousand six hundred Pure Yang True Immortals assisting… this was the complete and utter ‘Nuwa Repairs the Heavens Formation.’

This great formation was another of the three clan-protecting formations—the ‘Pangu Separates Heaven and Earth Formation’.

With the power of five thousand eight hundred Empyrean Gods coalesced, and with Tathagata as its core… the incarnated Pangu was in no way inferior to an Elder God! When combined with Tathagata’s own supreme level of insight and his devastating palm techniques… he stood utterly undaunted.

“Form the formation.” Fuxi also led three thousand six hundred Pure Yang True Immortals in forming a Nuwa Repairs the Heavens Formation.

“Form the formation.” Divine Farmer led five thousand eight hundred Empyrean Gods in forming a Pangu Separates Heaven and Earth Formation.

“Coalesce.” Freeheart True Lord led two thousand two hundred Empyrean Gods and True Immortals in forming the ‘Primal Dual Polarity Formation’.

The Pangu Separates Heaven and Earth Formation commanded Empyrean Gods and incarnated Pangu; it specialized in close combat.

The Nuwa Repairs the Heavens Formation commanded True Immortals, coalescing vast and surging magical power; it specialized in long-range attacks.

The Primal Dual Polarity Formation was extremely resilient. On the battlefield, it would go wherever danger raged, plugging any gap. It could strike from afar or throw the entire formation forward into the fray!

The might of the three clan-protecting formations was absolutely heaven-defying! Even if chaos-spawned alien races invaded, even if Elder Gods and Ancestral Immortals came… relying on these grand formations and the supreme level of insight of Nuwa’s powerful experts, they could hold the line against any external foe.

“Our qi of fortune is weaker, our formations are weaker… the gap is too vast.”

The Seamless Gate was practically in a panic.

They had known that Nuwa’s camp had three clan-protecting formations, but Nuwa’s camp had never truly revealed their true power before! What they had seen before were all simplified versions. After all, Daofather Three Purities, Tathagata, and the others had never personally commanded them before… Now that they were personally in command, the mere sight of them made the Seamless Gate’s hearts turn to ice.

Forget the Seamless Gate; even the well-traveled Great Demon God Cixiu’s face fell.

“Prepare to engage.” The Great Demon God Cixiu was leading his servants and a host of alien True Gods from the ancient ruins from a distant vantage point, ready to charge in at any moment. But when he saw the great formations rising from Nuwa’s camp, he was stunned into stillness.

“These formations…” The Great Demon God Cixiu’s perpetually calm expression finally shattered. He stammered in shock, “That Nuwa… wasn’t she just a native here? And she’d only just become a World God before she left the Three Realms. She’d only just become a World God, and as a native, her horizons couldn’t have been that broad… how in the world did she create three clan-protecting formations this powerful?”

“Troublesome,” the Darklight Swordmaster said in a low voice by his side. “Master, these natives are weaker than us precisely because they are all True Gods and third-rate Ancestral Immortals… But now, these so-called clan-protecting formations have dramatically increased their power. Look at Tathagata. The ‘Pangu-divinity’ he has formed is absolutely comparable to an Elder God’s divine body. Combined with his palm techniques… even the two of us together probably could not do anything to him.”

“Mm.” The Great Demon God Cixiu nodded.

Tathagata was an expert at defense. Back then, the two of them had joined forces and could occasionally wound Tathagata, but they had never managed to capture him. Now, with his ‘Pangu-divinity’, combined with those palm techniques, he was absolutely and utterly invincible.

“These native leaders all have very high levels of insight. Their weakness… has now been patched up by these formations,” the Darklight Swordmaster said with a frown. “They are not to be trifled with.”

“I knew it. A Chaosworld that had birthed a World God… would not be so easy to invade,” the Great Demon God Cixiu said through gritted teeth. “Let’s watch. Watch how the Seamless Gate responds. If they lose disastrously, we abandon the Three Realms and leave immediately.”

“Mm.” The Darklight Swordmaster nodded.

Both the Great Demon God Cixiu and the Darklight Swordmaster still had some life-staking trump cards they hadn’t used. But seeing the depth of Nuwa’s camp’s foundation, even if they went all out, they couldn’t conquer the Three Realms. They had better wait and see what the Seamless Gate could do.

Even though they were terrified, the Seamless Gate had no choice.

“Tathagata, Three Purities, Fuxi, Divine Farmer… the four great formations they are commanding… do not engage them directly. You are to hold off the other grand formations of the True Gods and Daofathers,” the Lord of All Demons commanded.

“Understood.”

The great powers of the Seamless Gate all sighed with relief. Their numbers were not insignificant. Old Man Yuan’s ‘Four Ancestors of the River Source’ faction, for instance, had now fully integrated into the Seamless Gate.

This large group of great powers was also commanding two great formations.

Some were formed by three True Gods commanding three thousand nine hundred Empyrean Gods, forming the ‘Limitless Demon God Formation’.

Some were formed by six Daofathers commanding five thousand one hundred True Immortals, forming the ‘Great Annihilation Formation’.

These were two formations that Master Stonerule had spent boundless mental energy to create. But in terms of the formations themselves, they were far inferior to Mother Nuwa’s. For example, the ‘Great Annihilation Formation’ required a full six Daofathers and five thousand one hundred True Immortals. Meanwhile, Nuwa’s camp’s ‘Nuwa Repairs the Heavens Formation’ required only one Daofather and three thousand six hundred True Immortals, yet its power was still superior.

The stronger the commander, the stronger the formation’s might. The formation commanded by Daofather Three Purities was vastly more powerful than one commanded by an ordinary Daofather using the ‘Nuwa Repairs the Heavens Formation’.

Now that they didn’t have to deal with the four formations commanded by Three Purities, Tathagata, Fuxi, and Divine Farmer, the great powers of the Seamless Gate all felt their confidence surge.
