Chapter 752: A Name Shakes the Realm - Breaking the Array Battle (Five)
The white lotus was not formed from some treasure, but was entirely condensed from the woman's own spiritual power. Its power was such that Han Li was genuinely surprised.
But the thought of surprise only flashed through his mind for an instant before his expression darkened. He sucked in a breath, and his right arm shot up, now covered in a faint layer of black Qi.
The black Qi pulsed and contracted like a living thing, growing denser and denser. When it had turned as black as ink, a look of gravity appeared on Han Li's face.
At the same time, his entire arm swelled rapidly, until it was two or three times its original thickness. A layer of dazzling blood light even surfaced on its skin, giving it an eerie, bizarre appearance beneath the shroud of black Qi.
This was the Yin Devil Slash that Han Li cultivated.
Han Li then cast a cold glance at the green-clothed woman.
As luck would have it, she had also finished her spell. She lifted her head as well, her bright eyes flowing as they met his gaze. Her eyes fell upon Han Li’s monstrous single arm.
A gleam of cold light flashed in her eyes.
“Go!” Han Li barked without the slightest hesitation.
His arm fell, and he swung it through the air.
A crescent blade of black and red light shot out from his arm. As soon as it left his hand, it expanded to a width of several zhang.
The sound of tearing air rang out as the blade, trailing a long tail of light, arrived in an instant at the area enveloped by the white lotus’s light.
The green-clothed woman’s delicate brows rose. She opened her mouth and sprayed a ball of crystal-white Qi onto the white lotus. Immediately, a layer of lotus phantom images materialized out of thin air above the lotus, covering the woman with an almost physical solidity.
Light flashed. The blade of light struck the lotus phantom solidly. It cut into it with ease at first, but after penetrating several zhang deep into the phantom, its speed dropped drastically. It became trapped, unable to move an inch.
A trace of complacency appeared on the woman’s face. But then, the look in her eyes suddenly changed once more.
This was because Han Li, without another word, had tossed a pitch-black object into the air.
As soon as it left his hand, the object swelled wildly in the wind, transforming in the blink of an eye into a black mountain peak over a hundred zhang tall, which crashed down towards the woman within the lotus phantom with irresistible momentum.
“Thousandfold Peak!” The woman cried out as she saw the towering mountain descending.
How could she not know of this ancient treasure, which was quite famous even among the Dharma Warriors?
Even with her mid-Nascent Soul cultivation and the ancient Buddhist secret technique she was currently employing, she would never dare to take this mountain head-on.
Without further thought, the green-clothed woman formed a hand seal. Her figure, along with the white lotus above her head and the yellow small tripod, merged together within a white light. In an instant, she turned into a wisp of clear wind and vanished from within the lotus phantom.
The next moment, after a flicker of light over twenty zhang away, the woman’s graceful silhouette reappeared within a green light.
The faint white lotus phantom at the original spot, though dimmed from the loss of the woman's spiritual power support, did not immediately disappear. However, under the crushing weight of the black mountain, it only held on for a moment before shattering and scattering.
“Wind Evasion Art?” Han Li showed no trace of joy on his face. Instead, he muttered to himself, and a feeling of bitter dismay grew in his heart.
He had not expected this woman to possess such an uncanny evasion technique, one that was not inferior to a Lightning Evasion Art.
This meant that unless he could trap her in a dead end, there was almost no way to defeat her.
Even so, Han Li resolved to give it a try anyway.
He still didn't quite believe that she could use the Wind Evasion Art with the same ease and proficiency as he used his Wind Lightning Wings. If he could just get close to her, he was confident that with the terrifying might of the Dry Azure Ice Flame, even if that white lotus was bizarre, he could severely injure her quite easily.
These thoughts raced through his mind, but Han Li’s hands did not falter. He pointed at the black-red blade of light, which had finally broken free, and at the scores of Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords. Instantly, these things shot towards the green-clothed woman who had evaded to the side, following her like a shadow.
At the same time, the sound of thunder came from behind Han Li, and a pair of silver-white wings unfurled on his back.
With a gesture, the blue light shield in front of him rapidly shrank, flying into Han Li's sleeve. Meanwhile, the massive black-red hand that had been gripping the giant eagle above his head also released the now-iced-over eagle. It transformed into a ball of black light, charging straight at the woman.
Han Li’s gaze flickered. He raised his other hand, and a wisp of blue flame appeared on his palm.
This hand then blazed with an eerie, dazzling blue light.
Silver electric arcs flashed wildly. Amidst a thunderous roar, Han Li vanished.
At the same time as Han Li acted, the green-clothed woman, seeing the endless stream of treasures from Han Li, also felt a great headache coming on.
She had originally thought that a mere early-Nascent Soul cultivator being this formidable was only due to a few strange supernatural powers. As long as her powers mostly countered his, she should have taken him down quite smoothly.
But she hadn't expected that in the blink of an eye, her opponent would first unleash four or five treasures of considerable power. Apart from the giant eagle transformed from the magic treasure she had released at the start, she had been suppressed by her opponent’s attacks the entire time. This stirred a growing rage in the heart of this woman, who was so highly venerated among the Moulan Dharma Warriors.
But she also knew that with so many treasures protecting him, it would be difficult to severely wound her opponent, let alone kill him, with just ordinary techniques and magic treasures.
Seeing Han Li sprout wings from his back and then vanish in a flash of lightning, she gave a cold snort. She finally decided to deplete some of her own vital energy and use her ultimate trump card to strike him down in one blow.
For now, however, she naturally couldn’t allow Han Li to get close using his Lightning Evasion Art.
With this in mind, she moved her mind. The white lotus above her head descended, and suddenly sank into her crown, disappearing without a trace.
At the same time, with a thunderous crack and a flash of electric arc, Han Li’s figure materialized three or four zhang away from the green-clothed woman.
His form flickered, and he suddenly closed in to about a zhang in front of her. With a flicker of blue flame, one of his hands shot out like lightning, silently pressing against the yellow barrier in front of the woman.
The wooden-attribute light barrier set up by the small tripod—Han Li was eighty percent sure he could break it with a single blow from the Dry Azure Ice Flame.
Seeing his attack land so easily, and the woman within the barrier floating motionless in the air without any sign of using the Wind Evasion Art to avoid it, Han Li’s heart tightened. He sensed something was terribly wrong.
It was at this moment that a soft, milky-white light suddenly erupted from the woman within the barrier. Patches of pure white lotus petal shadows bloomed all over her body.
Just as Han Li broke through the yellow light barrier, he was blocked by a lotus petal.
The moment the white light and blue flame made contact, Han Li felt a tremor run through his arm. In an instant, his vision was filled with a vast expanse of white light, as if he had been lightly swept by that lotus petal.
Its movement was clearly slow, yet he was completely unable to avoid it. He could only watch helplessly as the petal struck his body.
A chill of terror ran through Han Li’s heart!
With a heavy “thump,” a searing pain exploded in his chest, and his entire body was sent flying backward as if shot from a cannon.
He was blown back a full twenty or thirty zhang before he could barely manage to right himself, stopping with a wobble. Pressing one hand to his chest, he looked at the woman with a face full of shock.
The green-clothed woman was now standing on a massive lotus flower several zhang in size that had bloomed beneath her feet. Sheets of hazy white lotus petals rotated slowly around her body. The woman stood expressionlessly within them, staring coldly at Han Li without moving.
The attacks from the Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords and other treasures, which had been following closely behind, were all easily swatted away by these petals. Compared to the lotus phantom she had formed earlier, these petals seemed far more formidable.
Just then, Han Li felt a sweetness rising in his throat. He couldn't help but open his mouth, spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.
Han Li grimaced inwardly. This loss was truly not a small one!
With that thought, he exhaled the stale air from his lungs, slowly moved the hand pressing on his chest, and looked down.
The robe on his chest had been shattered, revealing the dazzling, three-colored luster beneath.
The armor he had deliberately hidden under his robe was now deeply dented in a large section, with several thumb-thick cracks running through it.
Han Li sucked in a breath of cold air. The sharp pain in his chest seemed to intensify.
His face dark, he raised his head to look at the green-clothed woman.
He happened to see her gaze sweep over his Insect Armor, a hint of disappointment and surprise flashing across her face.
Giving a cold snort, Han Li decided to simply tear open the blue robe on his upper body with one hand, revealing the full, majestic-looking Insect Armor.
Then, a green light flashed in his other hand, and he gently swept his five fingers over the damaged part of the armor.
An unbelievable scene unfolded. The dents and cracks on the armor began to fill in and bulge out at a visible rate under the touch of the green light.
In the blink of an eye, it had returned to its original state, as if it were brand new.
The green-clothed woman’s expression shifted slightly. A look of shock appeared in her eyes. But she quickly resumed an icy demeanor, her killing intent towards Han Li increasing by another notch.
She stopped thinking and placed her bare hand before her chest, spreading her fingers. Amidst a pleasant, obscure incantation, a ball of green light flew out from her sleeve, circled once, and landed in her palm.
The light faded, revealing a bronze oil lamp. It was ancient and worn, so old it had turned faintly black.
The woman glanced at the oil lamp, a faint look of reluctance flashing across her face. Then, she glared fiercely at Han Li, a ruthless glint in her eyes.
Seeing her expression, Han Li felt a sense of foreboding.
Although he didn't know what formidable ancient treasure this oil lamp was, it was truly the first time he had seen, or even heard of, a lamp-type treasure.
His mind raced through various thoughts. With a flash of green light, Han Li transformed into a streak of green rainbow, soaring through the air. He swept up all his treasures, collecting them all in an instant. Then, he flicked his wings, and with a roar of thunder, he vanished.
The next moment, he appeared before the giant eagle, now frozen into an ice sculpture.
Without the slightest hesitation, Han Li lifted it with one hand. With another thunderous roar, he disappeared, reappearing at the edge of the thick fog in a certain direction. Without a second thought, he plunged headfirst into the misty sea.
The green-clothed woman’s mouth hung open, her face a picture of utter astonishment.
Ever since she had achieved her great cultivation, she had engaged in countless life-or-death battles with many formidable opponents of equal standing. But this was truly the first time she had ever seen a high-level cultivator who would turn and flee without hesitation before even suffering a defeat.
However, when she saw that Han Li had also taken the giant eagle, she snapped out of her shock, now filled with rage. With a clear cry of anger, she stepped on her white lotus, holding the solitary lamp in her hand, and turned into a wisp of gentle wind. She immediately gave chase.
She too vanished into the thick fog.
In an instant, within this sea of mist, silver arcs and green light flashed in a constant pursuit. The sounds of thunder and howling wind also rose and fell without cease.
In the blink of an eye, under Han Li’s lure, the green-clothed woman was drawn to another unfamiliar location.
There, Han Li’s body flashed with a silver light, and he halted.
Looking down at the blue ice sculpture he had been carrying in his hand, he gave a cold laugh. A golden arc suddenly flickered on his palm, and the ice sculpture shattered into pieces.
