Story context

The new kid steps onto the block! Ji Ning is officially installed as Patriarch Subhuti's nominal disciple, but even the title of 'nominal' comes with perks that would make most Wanxiang Adepts weep with envy. After receiving the lowdown from his senior, the white-robed Lord Jun, Ning finds out the two Dao-attendants that serve the Patriarch are actually primordial Congenital spirit-treasures in human form—a flex that sets the tone for just how ludicrously stacked Mount Innerheart is. Then comes the grand tour: the Divine Immortal Palace, a nine-layered library packed with techniques from every path imaginable, open to all on the mountain, and the legendary Three Realms Palace, a humble-looking pavilion where only the master's personal disciples can uncover the kind of secrets that let you walk the Three Realms sideways. Ning's spirit-beasts, Qingqing and Uncle White, are about to have the cultivation spree of their lives, while Ning himself sets his sights on the ninth floor.

Why it matters

This chapter is a classic 'settling in' interlude that does double duty as a major power-up teaser for Ji Ning's entire party. While Ning's new status is officially 'nominal', the perks (access to the Three Realms Palace, mountain-wide respect from Return to Void powerhouses) are deeply real. Enjoy the relaxed pace—the tension will ramp up soon enough. Keep an eye on the nine-layer ladder of the Divine Immortal Palace; it's a direct progression gate for Ning, and the rules imply he'll need to show off in front of the mountain's elites to get to the good stuff. Also, don't sleep on Qingqing and Uncle White's excitement: this is their chance to catch up, and given Ning's need for a strong squad, their growth will likely matter in the arcs to come.
