This chapter is an absolute banger of a gear-check. Ji Ning, having just been ambushed by a colossal grand formation powered by nine floating mountain peaks—a formation threatening enough to make even a Celestial Immortal sweat—decides the best defense is a good offense: he rides the Bashe attacker like a rodeo bull and dares the formation to hit him. The Nine Heavens Divine-Poison Flame, a chaotic True Fire that should melt most cultivators into paste, does nothing but give him a warm bath. The shockwaves are immediate. The enemy commanders, from the silver-armored general to the Bloodcloud Hall assassins, realize they are facing something utterly abnormal. Their last resort is a desperate bait: a mysterious black misty cave that has previously devoured Celestial Immortals. The chapter ends with Ji Ning at the threshold, having stopped just short of chasing his prey inside, left to weigh the unknown terror against his pride. Pure, concentrated Xianxia escalation.
This is one of those chapters where you want to read Ji Ning’s dialogue aloud in your most confident, cackling tone. The emotional payoff here is huge: after all the tension of the ambush, the assassination plot, and the silver-armored general’s cold confidence, Ji Ning casually demonstrates that their best attack is beach-level weather to him. The real horror, however, is the black misty cave. IETS does not introduce a Celestial-Immortal-killing death hole without planning to use it later. Keep your eyes peeled for what comes next—Ji Ning’s instinct to pause is smart, but it means the trap is still waiting.
