Story context

The dust hasn't even settled on the assassination attempt before the real battle begins—the battle for reputation. Ji Ning steps out of the shattered formation as the killer of a hundred-thousand-year-old Loose Immortal, and the whole Grand Xia Imperial Capital takes notice. This chapter is pure payoff: the tension of the prior fight dissolves into a cascade of recognition, praise, and wary respect from the Xianxia world’s movers and shakers. And of course, a loudmouth who talked too much is left eating humble pie.

Why it matters

This is a classic Xianxia "fame explosion" chapter—watch how Ji Ning's stock skyrockets the moment he survives and kills. The real treat here isn't the action (we had that last chapter) but the fallout. Every faction recalibrates their view of Ji Ning: the Zhuanshui clan sees a weapon against their enemies; Xiamang Hong sees a rising star worth befriending; and poor Xiao Lang learns the hard way that trash-talking someone before they've shown their hand is a one-way ticket to humiliation city.
