Story context

This chapter is a beautiful—and brief—breather before the storm. Fresh off the birth of Ji Ning and Yu Wei’s daughter, we trade battlefields for a nursery. But this is no ordinary nursery. The child, Jian Bingmoon, emerges as a stunning prodigy: born at the Zifu Fiendgod level, commanding flames, and speaking in full sentences. The chapter lovingly shows Ji Ning’s clumsy fatherly joy, Yu Wei’s stern discipline, and Brightmoon already proving she’s a handful of fiery divinity. Then, just as we’re soaking in the warmth, the perspective cuts sharply back to the Realm War. Daofather Crimsonbright and Daofather Ink Bamboo clash wills over the Seamless Gate’s latest escalation: a Daofather puppet. The quiet home on Brightheart Island is all the more precious because the world outside is about to burn.

Why it matters

This is the ‘happily ever after’ scene you never realized you needed. After hundreds of chapters of tribulations, revenge, and war, IET gives us a full chapter of Ji Ning being a hopelessly soft father. The contrast with Yu Wei, who wields her willow switch like a battlefield general, is hilarious and heartwarming. The dialogue when Brightmoon first asks, “Which one of you is my father?” is pure gold—the kind of scene that makes the long grind of cultivation feel worth it. Then, just as you are basking in the warmth, the narrative cracks open with Daofather Crimsonbright’s fury over the Daofather puppet. The Seamless Gate is not waiting. They are pushing hard. This is a classic setup for the next storm. For new readers: pay close attention to the name “Brightmoon.” It is a love letter from Ji Ning to Yu Wei, written in the ink of shared history.
