Han Li makes it out of the frying pan and into… a very confusing fire. After a desperate escape from the Wind Tear Beast via a hidden teleportation array, he lands in a cave filled with strange cultivators who are all waiting for a mysterious group mission—and they clearly think he’s part of it. The man they’re looking for is surnamed Li. Han Li is not surnamed Li. The mortals in the last arc were all named various permutations of Mo, which is a different surname. This is what we call a classic case of mistaken identity in the Dark Forest, and Han Li, being Han Li, does not correct them. He plays along. Get ready for a chapter where Han Li learns that the best disguise is sometimes just letting other people’s assumptions do the work.
Sit back and enjoy the irony. The entire demon clan and human world are tearing itself apart looking for a “Li” cultivator, and the actual culprit—Han Li—lands right in the middle of a new adventure, instantly mistaken for a different late-stage Core Formation powerhouse. The chapter is a masterclass in the Mortal Stream’s favorite technique: *letting other people’s mistakes be your disguise*. Han Li doesn’t lie once; the skull-faced man just assumes he’s part of the team because of his cultivation level and arrival time. The tension is wonderfully inverted: usually Han Li fears being discovered; here, he fears the other shoe dropping and the real Li showing up. Plus, we get a delicious taste of the wider consequences: the flood dragons are furious, the human cultivators are terrified, and everyone is blaming some poor, non-existent Li. A perfect palate cleanser before the real mission begins.
