Sacrifice and the Stone Spear

In that instant, the Curse World fell into a deathly silence—utter, abrupt, swift. The sudden change came with terrifying speed.
A black hammer smashed into another Otherworld Ancestral God, nearly shattering his body, blood spraying from his back.
Within the demonic clouds that blotted out the sky, over a dozen Ancestral God weapons hurtled through the grand formation. The power of the ancient killing array intensified, sanctifying every blade of grass and stone into a lethal weapon that shot into the heavens.
With divine source as its foundation, every object in the Curse World was transformed into a terrible killing tool. This was the peerless grand formation of the Curse World, truly capable of wounding Ancestral Gods!
Blood gushed from eight shadowy figures in the sky; the forbidden formation had genuinely harmed them. But making Ancestral Gods bleed was already a rare feat; truly killing them was far more difficult, as each was immortal across ages, killable only by special means. The grand formation could not destroy them all.
In that moment, all things in heaven and earth—every blade of grass, every tree—became fully sanctified. Even many cultivators were turned into weapons of slaughter, rising into the sky as weapons within the peerless formation. Millions of living beings, billions of grasses and trees—all were concentrated against two or three of the enemy, as the array sought to grind down the Ancestral God–level combatants.
From an eternal unknown, the three Supreme Ancestral Gods, sitting like fossils, suddenly opened their eyes simultaneously. In that instant, three overwhelming waves descended upon the Curse World.
The Demonic Blade, the Imperishable Heavenly Shield, and the Thirty-Three-Layer Pagoda all trembled as if coming to life. They tore through the sky and broke open the black mist, carving out a passage through which they calmly guided the eight Otherworld Ancestral Gods out.
Such was the terrifying power of the Supreme Ancestral Gods.
But as the powers departed, the peerless formation shuddered, and billowing black mist surged into the passage. Muffled cries followed in succession, along with a world-shaking howl of rage.
The black mist shrouded everything; even the Supreme Ancestral Gods in the eternal unknown could not see clearly what was happening within.
For the first time, a look of shock appeared on the ancient, fossil-like faces of the three Supreme Ancestral Gods. A massive hand reached down toward the Curse World.
With a thunderous crash, the black mist was dispersed, but the giant hand trembled repeatedly.
Seven Otherworld Ancestral Gods flew out of the spatial passage, escaping the Curse World. Two of them were gravely wounded, their bodies nearly shattered. The eighth had vanished entirely. Thick blood mist drifted—the outcome was clear.
Moments earlier, they had suffered an unknown attack without even seeing their enemy. The seven showed expressions of shock.
From the eternal unknown, that Supreme Ancestral God withdrew the hand he had extended. Five drops of blood oozed from his five fingertips—crimson, sinister, filled with demonic power.
“An Eternal Unknown old antique…” He uttered only those five words.
From another direction, a Supreme Ancestral God spoke, his voice like ancient well water: “The weakest civilization is only a facade. I have a foreboding feeling—perhaps we should crush all under heaven with our strongest force!” The third Supreme Ancestral God added, his tone cold and emotionless.
With a bang, a huge yellow-earth giant descended into the Abyss of the Curse World. Only his head was completely petrified. If Xiao Chen had been here, he would have recognized this as the terrifying being that had once attacked Keke’s ancestor in ancient times.
The old stone turtle immediately shrank back, shot toward the Heavenly Stele, and transformed into a engraved image, becoming a lifelike giant turtle on the stele.
The terrifying yellow-earth giant strode up to the Heavenly Stele, embraced the massive monument that stood as high as himself, and shook it violently, trying to shatter it. But the Heavenly Stele blazed with intense light and repelled him, sending him staggering back seven or eight paces.
With a low growl, the yellow-earth giant plunged into the black Dead Lake. He was as tall as a mountain, but the lake seemed bottomless, swallowing him completely.
Beneath the black Dead Lake, there was no light at all. Xiao Chen, the Old Ancestral Dragon, and the others were cut off in a world without hope.
“What do you sense?” the Old Farmer asked, holding the Otherworld Ancestral God’s corpse on his Great Annihilation War Spear. “I feel great danger approaching.”
“Yes, from behind us.”
“Quick, move!” Yan Huang and the Old Ancestral Dragon shouted simultaneously.
The black lake water was as heavy as a mountain; only Ancestral God–level beings could pass through it. Ordinary cultivators would be dissolved into pus instantly.
Rumbling filled the depths. A huge black shadow rushed toward them from below, its head crowned with a chaotic single horn. It attacked without warning, shrouded in misty chaos light.
With a bang, Xiao Chen directly offered up his formation diagram to suppress it. The broken diagram shattered the chaos, severed the tip of the horn, and blocked the colossal creature.
“This is the Ancestral God–level battle pet that the old stone turtle mentioned!” Yan Huang said, his expression grave. “Danger is not from it—let us hasten.”
The great powers rushed to a massive black hole at the bottom of the Dead Lake, the very place sealed by the Heavenly Stele. It was hard to imagine where it led. Vaguely, they could see a ruined city standing within the black hole.
“Does it lead to the Death World?” the Old Farmer asked, staring solemnly at the huge black hole beneath the lake. “Shall we make the sacrifice here?”
“Yes, here.” Mo Xiaowang first raised the severed head in his hand and performed a forbidden art, causing it to burn and its divine power to surge toward the giant black hole.
“You will be destroyed in time!” the captured Otherworld Ancestral God howled.
With a bang, the Old Farmer shattered the corpse with his Great Annihilation War Spear, and he too performed the sacrifice. Divine fire blazed beneath the Dead Lake, boiling the black water.
Several Ancestral Gods acted together, fully refining this Otherworld Ancestral God, consecrating his flesh and blood into the great black hole ahead. At that moment, they felt a vast, ocean-like horrifying aura, whether from the Heavenly Stele or from the blurred ancient city within the black hole.
The Otherworld Ancestral God’s body and blood quickly turned to ash, his divine power dissolving into the black hole.
In an instant, following the old stone turtle’s guidance, the group shot into the giant black hole.
At the same time, a yellow-earth giant’s hand swept silently toward them. If they had been a moment slower, that hand would have engulfed them. Its head was petrified, its body formed of yellow earth—the terrifying being had arrived!
A roar that came from the depths of the soul shook the entire Dead Lake and even the giant black hole. The yellow-earth giant’s two great hands reached into the hole, and his massive head also thrust inside.
But at that moment, the gigantic Heavenly Stele on the island in the Dead Lake suddenly blazed with light. All the engravings carved into it seemed to come to life. The Heavenly Stele rapidly sank, pierced through the island, and crashed into the Dead Lake. With a thunderous boom, it pinned the yellow-earth giant to the lake bed!
A beast-like, soul-shaking roar erupted from the yellow-earth giant. His upper body had already entered the giant black hole, but his lower half was trapped by the Heavenly Stele.
Yan Huang, the Old Ancestral Dragon, Xiao Chen—all were shocked. The dangerous aura they had sensed earlier came from this giant.
“How can he be like a wild beast, lacking any proper intelligence?” Xiao Chen was astonished. This yellow-earth giant’s power was impossible to gauge, but his intellect was that of a brute beast—his eyes held only slaughter and madness. His chilling aura was enough to make even Ancestral God–level beings tremble.
With a roar, the terrifying being with the petrified head thrashed his lower body to break free of the Heavenly Stele while swinging his massive hands toward the Ancestral Gods.
“Fall back!” the Old Farmer ordered.
On this side of the black hole was also an endless expanse of dark water. The group tore through space and fled more than ten miles, until a ruined ancient city barred their way. This was the mysterious city they had glimpsed through their divine arts before entering the black hole.
It looked very much like an ancient demon city, but it was shattered and decayed. Most of its walls had collapsed, and the buildings inside had long since turned to rubble.
The terrifying giant’s hands were still growing behind them, stretching more than ten miles to catch up.
At that moment, Xiao Chen and the others stared intently at the center of the ruined city. A stone spear stood embedded in the ground, ancient and unadorned, yet it grasped their minds with an irresistible pull—even Ancestral God–level beings felt their hearts race.
“Go!” Yan Huang said in a low voice. Now was not the time to gawk; they could not recklessly rush in to pull out the stone spear, for the old stone turtle had warned them that obtaining a stone weapon depended on fate.
With a rumble, the terrifying yellow-earth hands had already grown to reach them, recklessly smashing down a section of the ruined wall like a mountain ridge. The hundred-foot-high wall toppled with a crash, churning the dark water.
The yellow-earth giant, like a mindless savage beast, paid no heed. In an instant, he thrust his hands toward the center of the city, clearly having seen the stone spear as well.
With a bang, from an ancient well in the center of the ruined city, a petrified hand suddenly shot out. With a thunderous boom, it blocked the yellow-earth giant’s hands and shattered them nearly to pieces.
Yan Huang and the others had already burst out of the dark water, finding themselves above a surging, roaring black river—the same one that once flowed through the land of the demon bear in the depths of the Death World. No one had ever reached the end of this river. This was just a stretch of the black river, and beneath its waters lay a ruined ancient city.
“Ya-ya!” Keke cried out in alarm.
Through the water, they could dimly see the scene within the ruined city. A strange being climbed up from the ancient well. The left half of his head was petrified; the right half was rotted bone, nearly decayed. As for his torso, the left part of his chest had turned to stone, while the rest was crumbling white bone covered in cracks, as if it would shatter at any moment.
Was this the dying, terrifying figure the old stone turtle had spoken of?
With a bang, the strange being pulled out the stone spear from before the well. With a violent shake, it pierced through one of the yellow-earth giant’s arms!
The Ancestral Gods all saw that the stone spear was a true stone weapon. Neither the strange being’s half-petrified head and left chest nor the yellow-earth giant’s head were true stone weapons—they were merely petrified. The stone spear and the half-skull in Xiao Chen’s palm seemed to spring from the same origin.
With a bang, the yellow-earth giant, though his arm was pierced, exuded an overwhelming ferocity. With a violent tremor, a hazy stream of Xuanhuang energy surged forth, engulfing the strange being before him.
Without a sound, the strange being’s right half of rotted bone was shaved off a layer; bone powder fell to the ground, leaving him noticeably thinner.
With a crash, the strange being gave the stone spear a violent twist, ripped it through the yellow-earth giant, and split him open—even the petrified head rolled to the ground.
In the eternal unknown, the three Supreme Ancestral Gods opened their eyes at the same moment, revealing shocked expressions. They had already sensed that the yellow-earth giant was in danger.
With a rumble, the petrified head, after rolling to the ground, spat out a terrifying yellow light that instantly engulfed the strange being holding the stone spear.
With a crash, the rotted bones on the strange being’s body shattered and fell apart, leaving only the petrified parts intact, lying on the ground. He used his powerful divine thought to control the stone spear, piercing his enemy again.
The two terrible beings did not move with great speed, but every blow shook heaven and earth, making the entire Death World continent tremble.
