The Divinization of Eight Acupoints

1,851 words

The little snow-white beast wore an expression of pure bliss as it clutched a purple-gold ginseng root more than half a chi long—nearly as long as its own body. It wrinkled its adorable nose, then bit down with a crisp crunch. In an instant, a beam of multi-colored light shot into the sky, filling the entire courtyard with an intoxicating, fragrant aroma.

Such a phenomenon was too astonishing. Five-colored radiance shrouded the whole yard, as if a rainbow sun were cradled in Keke's arms. The soul-stirring fragrance of fruit permeated the air, so rich and intense it seemed to seep into one's very bones, leaving one utterly intoxicated.

The ginseng's skin was purple-gold, but inside it flashed with five-colored brilliance. There was no solid flesh; within lay a honey-like viscous liquid, crystalline light flowing and slowly seeping through the aged rind.

Even passersby on the street caught the intoxicating fragrance.

Xiao Chen, Keke, and the Little Defiant Dragon all began to savor this wondrous fare with unbridled enjoyment. Truly, as a divine essence guarded by the dragon race, it was incomparably unique.

The viscous five-colored droplets melted the moment they touched the tongue, their flavor beyond description. Xiao Chen felt as if every pore of his body opened, suffused with a soothing warmth. The drops transformed into countless tiny, radiant streams as they entered his mouth, surging into his limbs and meridians.

"Gulp..." The fat man swallowed hard, truly longing to rush over and take a bite for himself.

Hai Yuntian, normally so particular about decorum, was no better off. He forced himself to turn away, secretly swallowing his saliva.

"Since everyone is here, you two come over as well." Xiao Chen smiled, beckoning the fatty and Hai Yuntian.

The little snow-white beast, Keke, was somewhat reluctant. It was willing to share with Xiao Chen and the Little Defiant Dragon, but not so much with others. Its big, glossy black eyes slanted toward the two men, then it took a huge gulp of the five-colored liquid, instinctively closing its eyes in ecstasy and letting out pleased little hums.

"Forget it. On the path of cultivation, I will never rely on external force." Hai Yuntian refused.

The fatty swallowed hard again. "I'd like to eat it, but I'm not a cultivator. I'm afraid I couldn't handle such a divine essence. Even when I stew a turtle, I get a nosebleed. This good stuff would probably be wasted on me." He shook his head regretfully.

Even Keke showed a hint of disdain at his greedy expression. Xiao Chen laughed and tore off a fingernail-sized piece from the ginseng, handing it over. "Try a little."

"Alright!" The fatty was very direct. He took it and swallowed it in one go.

He downed it quickly, and he fell down just as fast. Almost at the same moment, he toppled over, yelling, "I'm burning up! Burning up! This is stronger than a thousand turtles' essence! I can't take it!"

Blood gushed from his nose; his whole body turned red, as if he had been boiled. Hai Yuntian hurried over to help, and at that moment, something unexpected happened to Xiao Chen as well.

It was not like the fatty's inability to absorb the nourishment, but rather a tremendous attractive force within Xiao Chen's body that devoured the essence transformed from the five-colored droplets.

The long-absent phenomenon of acupoint divinization had reappeared!

The Baihui acupoint at the crown of the head, the most vital of all major acupoints, now resembled a bottomless pit, frantically plundering the vast spiritual energy just generated within Xiao Chen's body. Endless life essence converged like a hundred rivers flowing into the sea, all directed toward one point. Finally, a brilliant light node condensed—the Baihui acupoint was divinely transformed!

Compared to the formation of the previous divine acupoints, the time was greatly shortened. Xiao Chen felt a twinge of helplessness. Such a thing had happened again. The enormous spiritual energy could not be directed according to his will; it all coalesced into a single point, causing a particular acupoint to become divinized.

But the matter did not end there. The Laogong acupoints in the center of both of Xiao Chen's palms each gave rise to a pitch-black vortex, frantically stripping away most of the ginseng in his hands.

Keke and the Little Defiant Dragon were fast enough to rescue less than half of it. The rest transformed into dazzling streams of light, pouring into the black vortices in Xiao Chen's palms.

The Laogong acupoint is located in the center of the palm, a special position. In that moment, Xiao Chen's hands, set against the black vortices, looked like hands of a demon—an indescribably eerie sight.

The essence rapidly gathered, all of the five-colored liquid dissolving into light and merging into the vortices. The pitch-black swirls gradually faded, and two brilliant five-colored light nodes settled in the centers of his palms. Both Laogong acupoints were fully divinized, standing out like bright lamps in the dark night compared to the ordinary acupoints.

Keke and the Little Defiant Dragon split half the ginseng; the other half was seized by Xiao Chen's three acupoints. Three light nodes perfectly fused with the acupoints—the light node was the acupoint, and the acupoint was the light node, completely divinized. Compared to the other ordinary acupoints, it was as if three full moons had risen in the pitch-black night sky!

Half a stalk of five-colored ginseng had actually caused three acupoints to become divinized. This showed how vast a quantity of life essence it contained. For context, the egg of a Storm Dragon or an Eight-Armed Malignant Dragon, the most powerful dragon species, could only divinize a single acupoint.

This was truly a Dragon Ginseng!

Once again, Xiao Chen deeply felt the mysteriousness of his own cultivation method.

The vast essence had not been refined to raise his cultivation level, but had instead condensed with the acupoints into brilliant nodes. Yet Xiao Chen was not overly disappointed, for the ocean of worldly essence had gathered within his body and had not dissipated.

At that moment, it was as if a network of mysterious channels had appeared, connecting the divinized acupoints across his body.

The left foot Shangqiu, right foot Shangqiu, chest Zhongting, left Shoulder-Well, right Shoulder-Well, left Laogong, right Laogong, and crown Baihui—eight major acupoints had condensed into brilliant light nodes. Now they pulsed violently, emitting a piercing radiance that shone directly through his body.

This startled Keke and the Little Defiant Dragon, who were nearest to him. The eight acupoints seemed to be connected by an invisible channel!

Life essence surged between the eight acupoints. Under internal observation, the connection could not be seen, but it could be truly sensed. The ceaselessly flowing life vitality circulated constantly among the eight acupoints.

His life essence was extraordinarily abundant!

Xiao Chen felt as if he now had nine lives. Such vigorous life essence caused even his skin to flow with radiant luster. His flesh, blood, and bones were also filled with light, as if they had undergone a refinement, gleaming with the precious radiance of life.

Every inch of his skin was brimming with power. His body seemed forged from fine steel. Dimly, Xiao Chen had a feeling of being reborn.

Precious body!

The divinization of acupoints had accelerated Xiao Chen's cultivation of his precious body. Although this time he had not obtained the enormous essence to break through into the Spirit-Treasury realm, his body had undergone a transformation. Ordinary sharp blades and weapons could hardly harm it now.

The strength of his physical form had reached an inconceivable level. Few among his peers could match his toughness.

His life essence was even more astonishing. If injured now, he could recover in the shortest possible time.

The body is a precious treasure, containing inner riches.

No one knew how many secrets were hidden within the human body, nor how great the body's potential was. The Spirit-Treasury realm—the excavation of one's own treasure, the unlocking of the body's many seal-gates.

A splendid treasure light. The treasure-house of life awaited his exploration and excavation.

The cost of acupoint divinization was too harsh. After leaving Dragon Island, Xiao Chen felt that without dragon eggs, it would be difficult to have such opportunities again. But today, he saw another path.

There are three hundred and sixty-five standard acupoints in the human body. If each could condense into a light node and all three hundred and sixty-five were fully divinized, what kind of change would occur? Xiao Chen's anticipation for that day grew stronger.

When all was calm, there seemed to be threads of divine flame dancing in Xiao Chen's eyes, making them blazingly bright.

At rest, his body was like a mountain—still and unmoving. In motion, he was like a falling star, shattering all obstacles.

Xiao Chen's body flickered, and he vanished from the courtyard. Residual images appeared in every direction in the sky. It was as though space were being torn apart, as if he were moving by breaking the void.

The fatty, his nosebleed finally stopped, looked dejected. "No fairness. That guy eats ginseng and bounces around. I eat ginseng and spout blood."

Hai Yuntian felt a pang of envy. He sensed that Xiao Chen's condition seemed to have improved again.

"Has your cultivation advanced?"

"No. Only my body has become stronger, and my strength and speed have greatly increased."

"That's still progress."

"Not really. Spirit-Treasury is about opening the body's own treasure. I haven't pushed open any door yet." At this point, Xiao Chen turned to Hai Yuntian and the fatty. "Can you find out where Dugu Jianmo, Kanasi's freakish brother, Yuwen Feng, and the others are staying?"

After a brief explanation, the two understood. He was looking for the strongest of the younger generation—not just those of the Southern Wastes, but the most powerful masters.

Three days ago, the strongest young masters who had appeared in Heavenly Emperor City had briefly gathered together, even stirring up an unpredictable domain. Xiao Chen's target was these individuals.

"Have you lost your mind?" Hai Yuntian stared at him in shock, because he could already see the overwhelming battle intent in Xiao Chen's eyes.

"I urgently need a fierce battle. I have glimpsed a new horizon, and only by experiencing a life-or-death struggle can I charge into that new realm in the shortest possible time."

"You don't need me to scout everyone just for a challenge, do you?" Hai Yuntian looked at him suspiciously, already sensing something bad.

Finally, Xiao Chen's words confirmed his fears. "I'm not going to challenge them. I'm going to kill them all. One battle after another, ten consecutive fights. In the end, I may be gravely wounded and crawl back here." Then he turned to Keke and the Little Defiant Dragon. "Tonight, neither of you is to leave. Stay home and wait for me. I will return before dawn to go into seclusion. If anyone tries to force their way into this house, kill them. One comes, kill one; two come, kill a pair!"

"This is madness!" Hai Yuntian was dumbfounded.
