The Stele’s Seven Techniques
1,469 words
The True Immortal’s law-power was clearly far more adept at penetrating the words on this stone stele. The fifth technique was fully acquired. The sixth technique… the seventh technique… Ji Ning’s eyes were tinged with red light as he strained with every ounce of his being to acquire these techniques. He was utterly stunned by them. They were simply too incredible.
Seven techniques. Every single one of them could shake Heaven and Earth!
Even compared to the treasures of the Three Realms, some were among the peaks of the Three Realms, while others surpassed even what the Three Realms could create.
The first technique, the ‘Eighteen Gods of Taowu’, stirred boundless desire in Ji Ning’s heart.
The second, the ‘Nine Vexations of Beasts and Insects’, held limitless potential. However, the tribulation had already begun, and Ning had no time to study and research it.
The third, the ‘Sinner Weapon’, was actually quite similar to the ‘Fiendgod Blood-Refining Art’. Both were methods of forming weapons by absorbing the monstrous resentment and hatred generated when an enemy died. Such weapons were truly fearsome murderous tools, their power formidable. However, the ‘Fiendgod Blood-Refining Art’ was too simplistic, a very crude method of absorption. The ‘Sinner Weapon’ technique, in contrast, was thousands, tens of thousands of times more profound. It could allow a divine weapon to improve far more quickly, making it more perfect and with greater potential. It could even rise to become a ‘Chaos Godweapon’.
The fourth, the ‘Lang Rune Talismans’, was an art of Dao-talismans, extremely complex. Although Ji Ning memorized it, he could not comprehend it at all. It was clearly very profound.
The fifth, the ‘Heaven-Overturning One-Heart Formation’, was a formation art that perfectly complemented the ‘Eighteen Gods of Taowu’. This formation required eighteen cultivators to set it up, and they had to be completely ‘of one heart’… If one cultivated the Eighteen Gods of Taowu and set up this formation, one could stand fast and create a small world of one’s own, or trap the enemy, making them feel as if they were trapped within a vast major world.
This formation art was good at defense and good at trapping, but not skilled in active offense. However, this formation was also incredibly profound, far too deep to be comprehended in a short period of time.
The sixth, the ‘Ghostgod and Fiendgod Scroll’, was a method for nurturing ghosts. The soul was the root of life, and the ghosts left behind after life had ended possessed endless potential. The ‘Ghostgod and Fiendgod Scroll’ was a method for constantly strengthening a ghost, making it entirely possible for it to reach the True God or even the Elder God stage.
The seventh, the ‘Indestructible Body’, was a body-protection divine ability similar to the ‘Eight-Nine Arcane Art’.
However, compared to the Arcane Art, this ability was even more extraordinary. The ‘Indestructible Body’ had six levels. Empyrean Gods could only cultivate the first three levels; the latter three required a True God to cultivate. According to the description of this ability, simply cultivating the first three levels should be roughly equivalent to mastering the Arcane Art. The latter three levels, as Ji Ning guessed, should allow the divine body to reach the level of an Innate supreme-grade spirit-treasure.
In ancient times, great powers had joined forces to create the ‘Eight-Nine Arcane Art’, intending to create twelve cycles. In the end, they had only created nine.
This ‘Indestructible Body’, however, had immediately met the expectations of those great powers.
Of course, cultivating the Indestructible Body also required a huge quantity of rare treasures and precious materials. The Grand Cyclic Pills required for the ninth cycle of the Eight-Nine Arcane Art were already astonishing enough. To master this Indestructible Body… few True Gods, even Daofathers, could afford it.
...
Seven techniques.
Each one was astonishing. Among them, the ‘Sinner Weapon’ and ‘Indestructible Body’ were specially prepared for Fiendgod Body Refiners. After all, Sinner Weapons were mainly held in the hand for close combat.
The ‘Nine Vexations of Beasts and Insects’ and ‘Lang Rune Talismans’ were specially prepared for Ki Refiners.
The remaining three techniques, including the ‘Eighteen Gods of Taowu’, could be used by both Fiendgod Body Refiners and Ki Refiners.
"Finally, all of them."
Ji Ning had finally and arduously managed to penetrate the words of the seventh technique as well.
All seven techniques were now engraved in his heart.
"A great fortune. These were definitely not techniques created by the great powers of the Three Realms. Many of the rare treasures and strange materials described within do not exist in the Three Realms. The ‘Ghostgod and Fiendgod Scroll’ likely cannot even be used, and the ‘Indestructible Body’ will be difficult to cultivate to its peak, because those materials simply don't exist." Ji Ning understood this. "Even so, these techniques are extraordinary."
"Those alien races from the Chaos… they are truly formidable," Ji Ning sighed.
Those beings from the Chaos who could come to the Three Realms…
The most terrifying, the Lord of All Demons, had secretly caused the 'Seamless Chaosworld' and the 'Pangu Chaosworld' to draw near each other. The Lord of All Demons had even personally refined puppets, created the swarm of Mother Queens, and more. The forces under his command were comparable to the entire Pangu Chaosworld. This showed just how terrifying the alien races of the Chaos could be.
"Oh?" Ji Ning’s gaze fell upon the divine runes at the edge of the stele. "I only just managed to penetrate the words. I wonder what would happen if I tried to penetrate these divine runes?"
A surge of impulse welled up within Ji Ning's heart.
He could feel…
That the oppressive might of the stele came mainly from these divine runes. The words had no oppressive pressure, but the pressure from the divine runes was astonishingly powerful.
"Go." With a thought, Ji Ning sent the stele into a side hall within the aquatic palace. Then, from a distance, he sent his Pure Yang law-power to penetrate it. If there was any danger, the aquatic palace, an Innate spirit-treasure that was indestructible, could offer some protection.
"Penetrating these is truly difficult." The Pure Yang law-power slowly began to penetrate the divine runes. Ji Ning immediately felt a boundless, lofty, and exalted pressure. He also felt the strain of the penetration.
"Continue. Continue. A little more. Just a little more…"
Finally.
Ji Ning's Pure Yang law-power had completely penetrated the divine runes of the entire stele. Although penetrating the words had been strenuous, it was manageable. However, these divine runes caused Ji Ning's gaze to dim slightly. The consumption of his heartforce was far too great; he had barely succeeded in the penetration.
The moment he succeeded—
"BOOM!"
An incredibly majestic and shocking power erupted from the stele. The divine runes on the stele all blazed with blinding golden light. This majestic power was lofty and exalted, even surpassing the Heavenly Dao. It directly emanated from the stele, followed the trail of Ji Ning's released Pure Yang law-power, and descended upon Ji Ning in an instant.
Ji Ning even had a feeling…
That this sort of majestic power was something that, in the entire Three Realms, only the legendary Mother Nuwa and Pangu, who also surpassed the Heavenly Dao, could match.
This majestic power directly enveloped Ji Ning. He was like an infant, completely unable to resist.
Swish!
The majestic power quickly retracted back into the stele. The countless divine runes on the stele that had been shining with golden light also returned to normal, as if it were just an ordinary stone stele sitting there. As for Ji Ning, he had vanished from the great hall of the aquatic palace.
"Master!" The yellow-furred bear appeared, filled with worry.
He only knew that his master was studying that stele. As for what mysteries the stele held, he did not understand. But sensing that his master had disappeared, he was naturally panicked.
"I'm fine," Ji Ning’s voice resounded in the yellow-furred bear’s heart. After completely binding the aquatic palace, Ji Ning and the yellow-furred bear had truly become master and servant.
...
This was a hazy, chaotic space, only a few hundred meters in length and width.
Ji Ning suddenly appeared here.
"Where is this?" Ji Ning was puzzled, but he could also sense the yellow-furred bear on the outside. He immediately comforted him for a moment.
"That is…?" Ji Ning noticed two humanoid figures flying towards him from not too far away. Both emanated powerful auras. They had pitch-black skin and were about ten feet tall. As they flew over, Ji Ning became cautious and alert.
After the two humanoid figures arrived, they simultaneously knelt down, prostrating themselves on the ground, and said respectfully, "We pay our respects to the Keeper."
