Seven Gods Descend

The black whip wrapped around Ji Ning in tight coils, binding him completely. Gritting his teeth, Ji Ning struggled with all his might, but couldn’t break free. A flicker of rage gave way to a desolate chill within his heart.
“I thought that after eighteen years of cultivation, I was incredibly close to the Empyrean God level. I’d stopped caring about those violet-caped soldiers who’d reached the limits of Celestial Immortals. Who would have thought that in a single exchange, I’d be captured by this person?” Ji Ning’s gaze was icy as he stared at the golden-caped general and his squad of violet-caped soldiers.
“Haha, look at this alien; he’s still so defiant now.”
“He thinks that just because he could fight us a little, he could match the General.”
“The General has long surpassed the ‘Heaven-grade’ and reached the true ‘Sacred-grade.’ As the commander of the First Army, he’s among the strongest of the Sacred-grade. How could this alien possibly be his match?”
The violet-caped soldiers muttered to each other.
Sacred-grade. It was equivalent to the Empyrean God level of the Three Realms!
In the Broken Horn World, such beings were of extremely high status, qualified to wear golden capes. The Elders of the Hall of Elders, the generals commanding the armies, were generally at this same level. As a general of the constantly-fighting Frontier Army, and the commander of the First Army, he was the absolute war-god of the Broken Horn World, revered and admired by countless kin.
“Lock him up and bring him back to the Holy Temple,” the general ordered.
“Yes, sir!” The violet-caped soldiers acknowledged in unison. They looked at the bound Ji Ning with nothing but contempt and pity. Eons of history had bred an absolute, unyielding hostility in the warriors of the Broken Horn World toward all alien races.
“Time to head back.”
“Having our entire First Army bogged down here was dreadfully boring.” Countless horned warriors cheered with excitement. To these million horned warriors, eighteen years had been excruciatingly dull.
BOOM.
A golden warship flew over in the distance.
The general held the whip in one hand, its long length dragging the bound human youth, Ji Ning, behind him. The general looked at Ji Ning. “Your strength isn’t bad. The power of your sword-art was almost at the Sacred-grade. Unfortunately for you, you met me.”
Ji Ning glanced at the general but said nothing.
He knew it himself. His Crimsonbright Diagram of the Nine Heavens at the seventeenth level, combined with the fourth-stage Starseizing Hand, augmented by Autarch-level Heartforce and the auxiliary power of ‘Sword Force,’ should be able to hit the theoretical baseline of an Empyrean God! However, most Empyrean Gods were significantly stronger than that baseline, and this golden-caped general was certainly no exception.
Suddenly—
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Without any warning, seven figures appeared around Ji Ning. Their overwhelming, heaven-storming auras caused Ji Ning’s expression to shift drastically as he turned to look. Among these seven figures with their awe-inspiring might were a bald old man with squinting eyes, a gentle-looking youth, and an enchanting woman with snowy-white eyebrows...
“Senior Redsnow?” Ji Ning exclaimed in shock.
Among the seven figures was a tall, handsome man with red hair, clad in golden armor. It was the Fire God (Empyrean God ‘Redsnow’) Ji Ning knew!
These seven figures, all possessing the same level of incredible power, were all at the same tier.
“What?!” The general, who was still holding Ji Ning bound by his whip, also turned his head to see the seven figures. His expression changed drastically. “Who are you people?”
Danger!
An intense sense of crisis surged in the general’s heart. At the same time, he couldn’t understand how these seven powerful beings had suddenly appeared in the void territory of their Broken Horn World.
“Hahaha...” The childlike figure among the seven, who wore a neck ring, suddenly laughed out loud. His body instantly swelled, transforming from being smaller than Ji Ning into a colossus tens of thousands of meters tall, far taller and more imposing than even the horned warriors.
The now-enormous child laughed heartily. A golden beam of light suddenly erupted from his eyes.
“Golden Blaze Divine Light!” the child shouted.
As he swept his gaze in all directions, a pillar of golden light radiated from his eyes, covering a region a hundred thousand kilometers across. Where the divine light touched, the horned warriors and black-caped horned soldiers let out agonized screams. They were like snowmen melting under a glaring sun, except their dissolution was happening at an incredible speed.
“No!”
“The pain!”
“What is this?”
Within the hundred-thousand-kilometer sweep, none of the ordinary horned warriors or black-caped soldiers could resist. They melted and perished instantly.
In just that single sweep of his gaze, tens of thousands of horned warriors died...
“This... this...” The general was stunned. Then he immediately ordered, “Quick! Form the combat formation!”
“Yes, sir!” The eight hundred and one violet-caped soldiers immediately snapped out of their shock. To deploy their powerful war formation, they were indispensable as leaders. A small formation required one black-caped soldier and ten ordinary soldiers. A mid-sized formation required one violet-caped soldier, a hundred black-caped soldiers, and a thousand ordinary soldiers.
The grandest formation required a general, a hundred commanders, ten thousand black-caped soldiers, and a hundred thousand ordinary soldiers to combine their might. Without these violet-caped soldiers acting as the core, the rest of the rabble would be helpless against this terrifying divine light.
...
The child had attacked, and his gaze had swept a hundred thousand kilometers.
“Trying to flee?” The enchanting woman with snowy-white brows transformed into a white beam of light. A gigantic, pure-white scorpion appeared in the void, its body as large as an island spanning ten thousand kilometers. Its face bore a human woman’s features, with eerily floating snowy-white brows.
This ten-thousand-kilometer-long white scorpion charged almost instantly into the midst of the eight hundred and one violet-caped soldiers.
The scorpion’s brows, longer than a scorpion’s tail, floated and then transformed into countless white threads that entangled the violet-caped soldiers. Fortunately, the soldiers had already begun fleeing in all directions, so a portion of them managed to escape.
More than six hundred of the eight hundred and one violet-caped soldiers were instantly entangled by those brows!
As soon as they were bound, frost formed on their bodies. Their bodies then shattered like pieces of brittle ice, sliced apart by the white threads. Their inner cores were all crushed. Every one of them died.
...
Though it takes time to describe, in reality, the moment the seven figures appeared, the child and the armored, enchanting woman struck with devastating force. The general was completely enraged.
“Aliens! Damn you!”
Forgetting all about Ji Ning, the general transformed into a streak of light and charged directly at the tens-of-thousands-meter-tall child.
The child looked down at the general and laughed heartily.
CLANG!
The child smashed his neck ring down at the general.
The general’s four arms swung his whip, extending a hundred thousand meters to entangle the neck ring.
“You’ve got some skill,” the child said as he tried to pull the ring back but found it held fast.
“Hmph.”
The red-haired Empyrean God in golden armor watched this scene. He let out a cold snort and casually thrust his long spear forward.
RUMBLE!
As the spear shot forward, a massive vortex appeared in the void, its core at the very tip of the spear.
“Not good.” The general immediately sensed the immense crisis. He had a feeling that the red-haired one... was far more powerful than the child and the scorpion woman. It could even be his death.
“I have to flee!” The general had no thought of resisting left.
Just one red-haired man made him feel helplessly outmatched, let alone the presence of six other enemies who were not weaker than his current foes.
SHING!
Time itself seemed to twist.
The general felt a moment of confusion, then looked down at his own chest. A massive spear tip was protruding from it, and his heart-core was also utterly shattered.
“I... I’m dead?” The general found it hard to believe.
He couldn't have known that ‘Redsnow’ was the foremost general under Daoist Threelives. He had been a legend even in the ancient Primordial Pangu World, a true apex among Empyrean Gods.
“Redsnow, why did you bother with this puny alien scum? The rest of us haven’t even had a turn yet,” the gentle youth said helplessly.
“I was looking forward to a good fight, and you killed him in one blow,” the child complained.
Ji Ning stood there, stunned, watching the scene play out.
Heavens. Just moments ago, he had been in utter despair.
These seven figures that had suddenly appeared were all terrifyingly powerful! Was this the true power of an Empyrean God? They were completely on a different level from Celestial Immortals. It would probably take hundreds or thousands of Celestial Immortals working in a grand formation just to put up a fight against one of them.
“Senior Redsnow.” Ji Ning hurriedly called out.
Redsnow glanced at Ji Ning and gave a slight smile.
Because of his fiery red hair, many close friends called him ‘Redsnow.’ But his name was Red Snow, and the spear-art he had created was also named the ‘Red Snow.’
“Hurry up. Now’s not the time for games,” Redsnow the Empyrean God said. “Let's finish them off quickly and find a way out of this Realm of Annihilation.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Understood.”
Among the seven of them, Redsnow was the leader.
Having once followed Daoist Threelives, Redsnow was known for his steady, reliable nature. Furthermore, his actual combat power made him a leader others followed without question.
...
The Broken Horn World. The Hall of Elders.
“What?”
“Where did these aliens come from?”
“Impossible!”
The nine Elders, who had been leisurely watching the events unfold in their mirror, were all thunderstruck. The human had been easily captured by the First Army’s general, but then seven mysterious beings had appeared out of nowhere... and were now slaughtering their warriors with overwhelming power. Even the general, who was at the pinnacle of combat power in the Broken Horn World, had been slain in a single exchange by the red-haired enemy.
They were shocked and furious—and even more so, terrified.
Although they were Elders and at the same Sacred-grade as the general, their roles were more administrative. They encountered far less combat, and in a true life-or-death battle, they might not even be a match for the general.
...
In the endless darkness, three streams of consciousness collided.
“What?”
“Powers from the Three Realms’ Fiendgods have arrived too!”
“Damn it.”
“That void was already sealed; they couldn’t have come directly. There’s only one possibility. These Fiendgods of the Three Realms have been hidden all along inside a spatial treasure carried by that human. They didn’t make a move, but when we captured the human, they couldn’t hold back any longer.”
“These seven Fiendgods are all at the Empyrean God level, but that red-haired one is ridiculously strong. Our child, Haibu, was killed instantly. Even in that great war of ancient times, there were rarely such terrifying beings among the Empyrean God level.”
“We will have to personally take action. Annihilate them.”
“Yes.”
The three Mother Queens all erupted with boundless killing intent.
