Chapter 727: The Move
“What? You approve of Qian Fu’s plan? Is he crazy, or are you crazy too?” Li Huowang’s eyes widened as he stared at Qing Wanglai.
“Of course not the bait part he described. Since you said we can use you to wait for the hare and catch them first, then that’s what we’ll do.”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? That’s the same thing!”
“Of course it’s not the same. Don’t worry, we won’t just abandon you as bait. Since you can sense them, you are our eyes. Would we just throw away our eyes?”
Li Huowang understood this point. The other party wasn’t wrong.
Since this matter was no longer just his own trouble, then he was on their side now.
No matter what other intentions they had in their hearts, as long as this big problem was pressing down, these people most likely wouldn’t…
But Li Huowang also considered one thing—he needed to consider that he couldn’t be played as a pawn by them. After all, they had known each other for a long time, while he had only just come into contact with them.
After calming Li Huowang down for a moment, Qing Wanglai continued, “Since we are all projections, we first need to determine what form they are taking in our world. Since they are projections, they must also abide by the rules of the projection world.”
“As long as we can find out their identities through an ambush, we can use the rules of this world to help us.”
“Also, if possible, I want to negotiate with them. The best outcome would be to solve this trouble through communication.”
“Actually, when you think about it, a lot of things can be solved through communication.”
“Fine!” Li Huowang immediately nodded. Never mind that guy’s projection theories for now—since those bastards had directly hit him with a truck, it was only right that he fought back first.
The best-case scenario was to gather solid evidence proving that they were the ones trying to harm him, rather than him and his people just losing their minds!
Only then, when he called the police, would the others believe him.
“Heh heh… useless. It’s all fake, all fake…” Zhao Lei’s self-deprecating voice reached Li Huowang’s ears. “What projections? What danger? Can’t even make up a good lie. Too shoddy.”
Li Huowang frowned, glancing at the strange man. What the hell was wrong with this guy? All day long, it was nothing but “fake, fake.”
As if sensing Li Huowang’s confusion, Wu Qi, who was leaning against the wall smoking, explained, “Don’t worry about him. He’s like that. Nihilism has got him brainwashed. Just treat everything he says as bullshit.”
Li Huowang couldn’t be bothered with the man. He looked at Qing Wanglai. “What if we make our move tonight? They’re getting bolder and bolder. If we drag this out any longer, something else might happen.”
He couldn’t help but be impatient. When someone runs you over with a truck, you don’t have time to waste.
“I have no objections. What about the rest of you?” Qing Wanglai asked the others.
After making a round of inquiries, Qing Wanglai raised his hand and looked at the watch on his wrist. “It’s still a few hours until dawn. If we want to make a move, we need to hurry.”
Once they finally reached an agreement, they all came down from the rooftop. Except for Zhao Lei, who got on his motorcycle, everyone else boarded Wu Qi’s RV.
“Fifth Sister, stop by the university gate. I need to grab something from the dormitory.”
“Money Daddy, the steering wheel is in my hands. If you want me to do something, you should at least show a little appreciation, right? How about we stop by the gas station, and you be kind enough to fill up the tank for me?”
“Really, I can’t believe someone steals gas these days.”
“Heh. Fine.”
“No problem! Didi Private Car 0254 is happy to serve you!” Wu Qi floored the accelerator, and the RV sped out of Orange Island.
Wu Qi’s RV was bulky, but she drove it even faster than Qing Wanglai’s sports car, quickly reaching the university gate.
“Heh… fake. Dormitory’s locked up at this hour. What are you getting? You’re all lying to me.” Zhao Lei parked his motorcycle beside the RV and muttered to himself as he watched Qing Wanglai walk into the university.
At that moment, Li Huowang was incredibly tense. He clenched his fists, thinking about what was going to happen next.
“We might run into them. No, I need a decent weapon!”
Looking around, he pulled open the drawer under the induction cooktop and stuffed the kitchen knife inside into his jacket. Only then did he feel slightly calmer.
“This way, if I have to, I’ll cut their heads off! I fucking refuse to believe the cops will still think I’m making shit up after that.”
Twenty minutes later, Qing Wanglai climbed back into the RV with his hands in his pockets. But before the RV had driven for even a minute, it stopped again.
“They’re here! They’re already here!” Li Huowang was completely on edge, his left eye fixed on the sleeping city outside. “I can feel them! They’re watching me!”
“Don’t go back to the neighborhood! Let’s do this outside!” Li Huowang made a snap decision. He didn’t want to bring this trouble to his home.
No matter whether his parents believed his story or not, it wouldn’t be good.
“How many?” Qing Wanglai asked.
“Three. No, four!”
Soon, Li Huowang, his head wrapped in white gauze, got out of the car. Leaning against Yang Na, he stumbled slowly forward.
But Yang Na, who was right beside him, was extremely nervous, barely stopping herself from looking down. Because she knew that the person leaning against her wasn’t Li Huowang at all—it was Fifth Sister, wearing Li Huowang’s clothes.
The real Li Huowang had already gotten out ahead with the others and was circling around to catch them.
“That kid is your boyfriend?” Wu Qi asked in a low voice.
“Mm.”
“Tough break for you, ending up with a boyfriend like that. With your looks, hanging out with him is practically charity.”
Just as Wu Qi finished saying this, shouts suddenly came from the alley on the left. Wu Qi yelled at Yang Na to stay put and rushed over.
As soon as she charged in, she saw Li Huowang, his face twisted in fury, holding a kitchen knife high overhead, wildly chasing three men ahead. “Stop right there! Don’t run!”
Li Huowang was frantic with anxiety. He had finally found the real people—he absolutely couldn’t let them get away!
The roar of a motorcycle sounded as Zhao Lei suddenly veered in from the side, blocking the three men’s path.
The three scattered instantly. One ran to the left, while the other two ran into the alley on the right.
Seeing Zhao Lei riding off on his motorcycle to chase one of them, Li Huowang charged after the other two.
With his left arm still in a splint, compounded by his previous injuries, Li Huowang could only watch helplessly as the two grew farther and farther away, despite his unwillingness.
Just as Li Huowang thought he was going to fail again, the two running men suddenly froze in place.
When Li Huowang finally caught up, panting and gripping the kitchen knife, he saw Qing Wanglai standing in front of them, holding a pistol aimed at their heads.
But when Li Huowang saw the faces of those two men, his pupils constricted.
One of them had been to Kangning Hospital! They had been watching him since way back then!
